Sure Spike Powder

Sure-Spike^® Powder is a specialized, dry compound formulation designed to restore loose, worn-out spike holes in wooden railroad ties. Sure Spike is a mixture of special silicates and proprietary admixtures. Yield is approximately 500 tie holes per 40 lb. resealable plastic container. Yield will vary slightly depending on field conditions. When poured into a stripped hole, this dry chemical powder reacts with moisture and heat generated when a new spike is driven, setting into a high-density matrix. This fast-acting compound fills wood cracks and significantly restores the tie's spike-holding power, extending the lifespan of timber ties.
